Stakeholder

General Business

Anyone with an interest or 'stake' in the project.

Teacher Context:Think of parents, students, administrators, and the school board. In corporate, it's usually clients, managers, or other departments.

KPI (Key Performance Indicator)

Metrics

A quantifiable measure used to evaluate the success of an organization or employee.

Teacher Context:Similar to standardized test scores or IEP goals. It's the 'grade' the company uses to see if you are doing your job.

LMS (Learning Management System)

EdTech

Software for the administration, documentation, tracking, and delivery of educational courses.

Teacher Context:You already know this! Google Classroom, Canvas, and Blackboard are all LMS platforms.

Bandwidth

Communication

The capacity or resources needed to finish a task.

Teacher Context:Corporate speak for 'Do you have time to do this?' or 'Is your plate full?'

SME (Subject Matter Expert)

Instructional Design

A person who is an authority in a particular area or topic.

Teacher Context:In teaching, you are the SME for your grade level or subject. In corporate, you'll interview SMEs to build training modules.
